Founded in 2002, the NWMO has been guided for 20 years by a dedicated team of world-class scientists, engineers and Indigenous Knowledge Holders that are developing innovative and collaborative solutions for nuclear waste management. Canada?s plan will only proceed in an area with informed and willing hosts, where the municipality, First Nation and M�tis communities, and others in the area are working together to implement it. The NWMO plans to select a site in 2024, and two areas remain in our site selection process: the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation-Ignace area in northwestern Ontario and the Saugeen Ojibway Nation-South Bruce area in southern Ontario. Information Technology Analyst (Employment Status: Fulltime) Position Location: Toronto Head Office ? 22 St. Clair Avenue East Job Summary: Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, the Information Technology Analyst is responsible to monitor NWMO IT systems and security functions, infrastructure and/or applications. This position also provides support, diagnostics, enhancements, and repairs, as required. Administer and secure application databases and IT operations and assist users in defining and documenting their information system / applications and technology requirements. Develop and implement information systems, applications, and technology products. Participate in providing consultative, training, and education services and periodically supervise technical staff assisting with work assignments. Conduct studies to assist users in defining and documenting functional requirements, data, security, and operational constraints requirements related to potential in information technology solutions for problems. Provide consultative services and specialized expertise in information technology and security / applications areas. Assist, and provide guidance to users and line management in the availability and use of information technology. Perform information technology / applications product acquisition activities for products of low impact. Perform market searches. Carry out design, development, and implementation activities for systems, applications, or databases. Construct system models or data models at the conceptual level, defining functional components, processes, data entities, and relationships with other systems / applications or databases. Review models with users and other information technology departments. Maintain systems, applications, products, or databases. Maintain library files for software in production use. Advise and assist users concerning the production use of systems, applications, products, or databases. Prepare written reports to capture current state and identify gaps and vulnerabilities while dealing with technical issues. For projects, prepare correspondence on financial issues, commitment of resources, work schedules, and proposals. Administer and secure products, systems / applications, or databases. Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of use of systems, applications, products, or databases in production. Effect, guide, or recommend corrective actions. Manage program libraries, database and file directories, and storage and resource utilization. Provide training and education on the products, applications, systems, products, or databases. Prepare user instructions in the form of written documentation (manuals and on-line user aids) and demonstrate usage. Demonstrate the usage of proposed development end products by means of prototyping or simulation tools. Carry out project management responsibilities. Assign work to staff assisting in the work and schedule their activities. Coordinate and assign project work activities including coordination with other departments. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications and Experience Completion of 4 years of a University degree in information technology or a similar level of education. 4 - 6 years professional working experience. Knowledge of the principles of computing equipment, methods, systems analysis and design, data management, work simplification, communications, and computer programming to enable creative logical reasoning in the design and effective use of systems and databases, computer-programming activities, and computer operations. Knowledge of computer science to gain an appreciation of design concepts related to computing equipment and software, in order to provide computerized solutions to varying Nuclear Waste Management Organization requirements. Good verbal and written communications skills to coordinate the needs of clients, suppliers, and division. Experience to define users? information technology requirements and to design, develop and implement the required IT systems, security function, applications, and technology. Experience providing consulting services and specialized expertise in information technology. Experience understanding the organization of the company and the services it provides. Customer service experience to establish a working relationship with users throughout the company and to understand the responsibilities of the job. Experience in information technology product acquisition and to carry out the design development and implementation of systems and databases. Other Information Must be eligible to work in Canada and must be able to meet security clearance requirements.
